Annual ELAC Timeline

AUGUST–SEPTEMBER: ELAC elects officers.

OCTOBER–NOVEMBER: Review fall reclassification data such as ELPAC scores, STAR Reading and Math Assessments, and Summit K-12 (secondary). Conducts a needs assessment.

JANUARY–FEBRUARY: Mid-year review of STAR Reading and Math Assessments. Review data and generate written recommendations to share with School Site Council (SSC) regarding the School Plan for Student Achievement. Plan visit to SSC to share SPSA recommendations. Consider requesting budget adjustments based on student progress.

MARCH–APRIL: Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) consultation. ELAC and DELAC provide input on supplemental Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) funds before the NVUSD deadline. Report on SSC visit to share SPSA recomondations.

MAY: ELAC review Multilingual Learner (MLL) goals in the SPSA. The SSC approves the final SPSA.

JUNE: ELAC conducts an annual evaluation and plans for the upcoming school year.

DELAC advises NVUSD on programs and services that support English learners. Comprised mostly of parents of English learners, DELAC helps shape goals, review procedures, and provide input on plans such as the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).
